Recession

Lately, I noticed that recession has hit the market quite badly... more obvious due to lost of jobs, companies/ factories closing down, etc. We can read all these in the newspapers or see it in the news or experience it first hand... friends, relatives, etc. However, there is one thing that doesn't change... the buying power. Buying power here referring to buying unnecessary things i.e. clothes, shoes, bags, etc. I can still see packed shopping malls, loads of paperbags in both hands, people enjoying coffee at Coffee Bean or Starbucks. In fact, I can see loads of new cars on the road everyday! The traffic jam is getting worst... majority are SOV's (Single Occupied Vehicle). Hmmm... recession my @#$! A car company even declared an increased in their January sales! Even weddings that I have attended to recently were still as grand as ever. I guess the rich gets richer, the poor gets poorer... sigh! What a sad reality...
