Kong Heng Artisan Market

I've recently discovered Kong Heng Artisan Market, thanks to hubs for alerting me and bringing us there. I've not heard of it and I was humbly surprised by the facade and market! It sure did remind me of Penang and Malacca but Kong Heng still has it's own unique artistry.

Located in the busy bustle of Ipoh, we were early so we beat most traffic and able to get parking easily. The walk from the car park to the market, passing through some alleys which were not only clean but artistically decorated, similarly to both Penang and Malacca. The only difference was the cleanliness here. Even the nitty dark back lanes were so clean! Well, I'll just let the photos do the talking here...

So clean right???

Kong Heng Artisan Market is actually a maker cum art market for the artsy fans. Lots of handmade stuffs are found here and some are quite unique too! Even the decoration for this location is artistically done.

We had this ball of ice LOL!!! It's from Bits & Bobs if you are interested :-)

On our way back to the car park, we did stopped by Bookxcess and Concubine Lane. Lots of stuff to feast the eyes on but it was already getting hot and humid with cramped up spaces. Too crowded so had to leave then...
Here's my mini loot! The lovely pair of earrings were from my Angels!!!
I did enjoy my time at this market and my mind has been buzzing with ideas! Unfortunately with limited funds and resources, most ideas would have to take a back seat... can only work on the feasible ones for now. Slowly but surely, love of art would lead the way, one step at a time! *fingers crossed*

A yearly excursion to Cameron Highlands.

A quick throwback to our recent trip to Cameron Highlands. One, to celebrate mom's 70th birthday. Two, dad's 6th memorial anniversary. We've gathered on Saturday to celebrate mom's birthday first. Good food and great company... such a blessed and thankful evening to be with family.

Headed to Cameron Highlands the next morning after breakfast. Surprisingly, it was terribly jam! No school holidays nor public holidays... harrumph! Anyway, we had a lovely time visiting dad's site and family quality time! Another year has passed... it's an early one this time as we were hoping to avoid the rainy season but got into the peak period instead. Will see how again next year... until then...

FIL's memorial 3rd anniversary

The Phang's family yearly excursion to Pulau Pangkor for Father-in-law's memorial via speedboat, albeit a belated one this year. It's his third anniversary and this time around, we did stop by the island for a sumptuous seafood lunch with such a breezy and sunny weather to boot!

We were too famished hence the missing food photos! Rest assured we had loads of fresh yummy seafood with refreshing coconut water! Yummy in my tummy!!!
Until then, see you again next year, Father!!!

Fireflies @ Kuala Selangor

My first time ever going to watch fireflies at Kuala Selangor! Always heard of it but never been there so I'm glad I've finally experienced the beauty of Mother Nature! Such a memorable trip for me!

Our dinner destination, after much Googling and reading rave reviews, we've decided on Suang Le River Restaurant, Tanjung Karang, Kuala Selangor. Overall, food was delicious and very fresh! I've truly enjoyed it so much especially the clams! Honestly worth every single penny...

For more details, you can check their Facebook page:

While on the way to Kampung Kuantan Firefly Park, we saw this cute little fella by the road side so we stopped. This cute little fella did not fly off so we quickly whipped out our smartphones to take photos! Such a poser lah this owl!
Such a poser!
Kampung Kuantan Firefly Park
Naturally, since we didn't bring our cameras, using our smartphones were not so smart after all. As the fireflies were tiny little things, we ended up having poor pictures taken with a brightly lit moon as our lighting. It was a calm, cool and bright night, great weather for this activity but just too bright for our liking lah... can't really see the brightness of the fireflies itself. Overall it was an experience which is memorable for me.

FYI, it costs RM53 to rent a sampan for 4 pax for a 30 minutes ride and the park closes at 10.30pm. For more details, you can check their website:

A Trip to the Wolf's Lair

Exactly 3 weeks ago, I had the opportunity to explore THE Wolf's lair! Please note that this will be a very long, picture filled post! LOL!

For those who didn't know the book club I am in, KL Book Appreciation Club (KLBAC), was invited for a tour of the Big Bad Wolf's warehouse. YES! The Wolf's lair itself and I was one of the lucky ones!!! When the day arrived, I was on 'Cloud 9 Book Heaven'... floating to the warehouse, smelling those yummy fresh books... one can never described the ecstatic feeling I had!

Took loads of pictures but too excited until some were blurry... obviously shaken ler with excitement! Anyway, the pictures below are self-explanatory LOL!
Aauwwww!!!
