TBNT Book Challenge 2022

Earlier this month, I have mentioned that I will slow down on my reading in order to allow a more relaxing year with more time for other hobbies such as to craft, garden or even colour.

In view of this, I have lowered my Goodreads reading challenge from 36 books last year (to which I didn't complete) to 13 books for this year. Why 13? Well, this is to accommodate TBNT Book Challenge which has13 challenges. Aside from this, I am also going for Litsy's Book Spin Bingo which can be used concurrently with TBNT Book Challenge so no extra pressure here. I've thought of joining again some KLBAC book discussions but that will probably be after Chinese New Year. There are quite a few based on various genres so depending on my schedule, if it's too tight then I'll forgo it.

Anyway, I'm sharing TBNT Book Challenge here, in case any of you readers are interested to participate.
Wish me luck!!!

Spotlight: Angel A - Mary Poser Giveaway!

Earlier, I was given the opportunity to read and review this e-ARC, Mary Poser. You can read my full review here:
http://www.sholee.net/2017/04/mpov-mary-poser-butterflies-and-white.html

About the author:
Angel A is a world traveller who shares her insights and experiences of global culture through narratives that are compelling, inspiring and insightful. Mary Poser is Angel's first novel. Her passion is to explore our inner world as revealed through the challenges, triumphs and revelations experienced in our outer world.

About the book:
Mary Poser is a novel about a girl who must overcome deeply entrenched obstacles to follow her heart. She crashes so badly, it almost takes her life. But this isn't her greatest threat, as how she hides her suffering to please others could prove devastating.

And now, I have been given 2 copies of iBook to be given away! So there will be 2 lucky winners ya!! Of course, it's open internationally!!!
http://www.maryposer.com/about.html

How to win? Easy peasy... just comment below and I'll randomly pick the winners via Random Number Generator. So 1 comment = 1 entry ya.

  2. 2 winners will be picked randomly using Random Number Generator and will be in contact via email.

Result: #myTBSeaster colouRing contest #atozchallenge

I think this would be the last colouring contest I am participating. It is actually more stressful to join a contest than to colour for fun. Colouring is meant to de-stress and not to add on more stress :-)

Anyway, this was my entry and obviously, not as good as the winners'...
Congrats to the winners! Those entries were really creatively good!
Here is the contest result:

Feathers AFlying contest result

So, I've participated in another Dawn Boyer's colouring contest recently and the result is out! Unfortunately, I did not win anything again, not even honourable mentions. Well, fret not, will definitely continue participating nonetheless.

Not sure what went wrong with my Colleen colour pencils, it's not as bold and sharp...

Lego First Order Transporter from Line Plus Corporation

Finally, it arrived! Oh yes!

Hubby won a Star Wars related merchandise previously from a Line contest. After waiting for so many weeks, we thought it was a hoax. He was a little crestfallen as he's a huge Star Wars fan and winning a Star Wars merchandise from Line meant something to him since it's not easy to win one.

And suddenly, it came yesterday! Obviously, he was ecstatic especially since it turned out to be big!
I know hubs is on cloud 9 :-P
It was the first time we ever won something from Line. Hubs was definitely damn lucky to have won this! Really super duper cool!

Thanks, Line, for this awesome and cool prize! You definitely made hubby's day!

Big Kids Coloring Book: Fairy Houses and Fairy Doors - Volume Two coloring book cover contest result

I've recently participated in an international colouring contest and it was a huge challenge for me. Well, aside from getting our masterpiece printed onto the book cover, they have also included some monetary prize... very tough as expectation would definitely be higher!

Dawn D. Boyer is an artist working on her second colouring book which will be published end of December hence this colouring contest. There were 6 artwork to choose from and we can send in a max of 2 entries per person. The first 100 entries will be considered for the judging panel and I managed to submit my entries on time! Phew!

My masterpieces:

There were some guidelines to adhere to so I dare not simply post lah in case disqualified. Anyway, they have just announced the winners today and alas... I didn't win any *sob! sob!* To be honest, there were really many good entries! I was in awe with their masterpieces... truly well-deserved! Congrats to all the winners!!! I wished I was more creative then... well, picking up some pointers for future contests :-)

Overall, this was an eye-opener for me. Also, I did have fun colouring those 2 artwork and it was an enjoyable contest to participate in. I'll definitely look forward to many more contests to participate in and have no fear, just have fun with it!

Thank you, Dawn, for this wonderful exposure... definitely learnt more from this humble experience.

If you would like to know more of her upcoming colouring books or be the first to know of her future works and colouring contests, click and like Dawn's Facebook page here:
https://www.facebook.com/DawnBoyerArtist/

Dawn has also created a group for all crafters and colourists alike in Facebook, a platform for us to share the end results of our masterpieces! You can join the public group here:

My first colouring date!

LOL! The title post says it all!

Recently met up with Ai Jou for breakfast, a quick catch-up and colouring date! Since we were joining the Stabilo colouring contest, we thought of sharing our mediums as we both have limited Stabilo products (Actually me more limited and she was so kind to offer LOL!)  *feeling grateful*
Old Town White Coffee's latest attraction LOL!
It was a brief yet fulfilling date and we are hoping for more to come soon!

P/S: other patrons were so curious and kept looking at what we were doing LOL!

Finding Audrey notebook

Just to share my happiness... recently won a prize in this contest:
After collecting it:
I honestly felt a little bummed as it turned out to be real small. I also had a bout of missing prize at first at Popular, Summit. They couldn't find my prize when I was there to collect it. After some 20 minutes or more, they found it stuck behind the inside of the drawer. *shakes head*

Nevertheless, thank you Popular for this wonderful prize! Though it is small, it is handy in my handbag so it's a blessing in disguise! Thanks again!

#KLBAC Parents' Day Giveaway!

Recently joined this contest in #KLBAC with books courtesy of #Bookalicious!
Well, you guessed it... I'm one of the lucky winners! I have actually tried my luck in all 4 books and emerged the winner for Roald Dahl's book!
My humble entry
Finally received my prize this morning!
I am truly grateful to have won this book. I've not read a Roald Dahl until recently a colleague shared one of his short stories, Lamb to the Slaughter, which was a good laughable read. Another author to be added in my Goodreads TBR list now...

I won a mystery album in Sound Snap! #TheRedFix

Yay! Finally got my mystery CD from Red.FM! The best part, how did they know I love Linkin Park?!!! Am feeling so, so, so happy and grateful for this! Totally made my day... grinning from ear to ear!
Anyway, the contest mechanic is easy... we just need to guess whose celebrity voice it belongs to from a short clip they played. This time they played this clip which I knew very well! 'Off with the head!' LOL!!! Immediately Helena Bonham Carter came to mind while my fingers were busy dialling Red.FM!
Saw this in their Facebook page the next day LOL!
Now have to wait another month to join the next Sound Snap contest :-)

Minnie in Pedigree's Shiny Furry Contest

Recently, I have entered Minnie in a Pedigree's Shiny Furry Contest in Facebook, hoping to get 6 weeks free supply *grinning unabashedly*
The pix I've submitted for the contest
We were so happy when she was short-listed and the Pedigree team actually dropped by for a house visit one Sunday. After a brief chat and photography session, I was told that Minnie's fur is actually very healthy and shiny hence deemed not qualified for the program. The program depicts that a dog should have unhealthy fur as 1 of the criteria. The purpose is for the dog to consume the kibbles for 6 weeks to a beautiful and shiny fur. As such, Minnie is not 1 of the lucky 30 fur-kids to join this Shiny Furry program. Honestly, I didn't realized her fur is that healthy!!! So I was happy and sad at the same time LOL!
Minnie, so proud and regal... shiny right?
Darn, I looked damn odd posing here...
Minnie's consolation prize: a box of Pedigree treats!!!
It was an interesting contest, understood their mechanism so no bitter thoughts here... in fact, I'm happy that we are really a responsible parents and Minnie is totally healthy *proud parents mode*
