Mother's day

Yesterday was Mother's day and I didn't get to celebrate it with my mom. Reason being it's too commercialized and every where was jam-packed. So I promised her a belated dinner few days later. I just can't help it with the economy going downwards and I was so tight with money too. How to splurge when everything was expensive? The restaurants took full advantage of all this celebrations to hike up the price. Same goes to the florists and gift shops. Sigh! So the best gift for my mom yesterday was a special message via SMS. Cost effective and straight to the point. My kids did the same, which I didn't mind. Just 'happy mother's day and I love you'... short and simple... sweet... meaningful... sob!
