Bangkok: 1st day–Khao Kha Moo

So sorry to my Muslim friends and readers, this is a non-halal post.

After settling down in the hotel, we headed out to have a late lunch, or shall I say tea, since it's 4ish already. We opted for the famous street hawker food, Khao Kha Moo or Pork Leg Stew in English.

Khao Kha Moo can be found everywhere. Hubby preferred this shop, which was recommended by his friend, as it’s just around the corner from our hotel… about 10 mins walk. The gravy tasted just right, meat was tender and the portion was just nice. It came with the hard boiled eggs and Ham Choy or Pickled Vegetable. Totally yummylicious! Our total bill was 1200 Baht including a bottle of mineral water which was reasonably priced.

The Thai’s prefer drinking plain iced water, just served in any forms of cup and a straw ^.^

The side dishes that accompany the main meal. The Thai’s just loved their chilies! I preferred mine as it is, without the spiciness.

The inside of the shop, as you can see, was quiet during the day. It’s always fully packed during the night.

The piles of pork leg stew!!!

The front of the shop, don’t know the name though… can’t read Thai.

It’s next to this road…

And this intersection…

If you want to try cooking it, you can check out the recipe below, found it by chance while Googling…
