I had dinner with my dear colleagues last week, Tuesday to be prĂ©cised. We decided to try Mbuji Cafe since it’s newly opened. We were promptly seated and given the menu. Rick, Eric and Ann ordered the dinner set which was available until 8.30pm.
Rick’s Beef Burger set with soup of the day. It looked appetising but the beef patty looked kinda dry though.
Both Eric and Ann ordered Roast Chicken set, also came with soup of the day. This bird definitely looked small.
Their dinner set also came with these cuties! Oh yea… and drinks too but I forgot to snap their Long Blacks and Jasmine Green Tea *slaps forehead*
As I was not feeling well, I didn’t taste their food, just observing it. I ordered the simplest one, Glass Noodle Fish Ball Soup. Surprisingly nice and tangible but the soup was salty. The best part, they used salad leaves which I liked! It’s very rare nowadays as most restaurants prefer to use choy sam.
My hot Jasmine Green Tea with Honey, I liked the presentation. Also, the honey came separately in a small jar. Cool!
Overall, the service was quite prompt but lacked explanation while serving the food. The waitress just placed the food without saying much and I actually made a remark of it to my colleagues. Upon serving my drink, she made the effort to mention it LOL! She must have heard and understood Cantonese!!! After that, every serving was indicated accordingly The portion was small though. At least their dinner sets came with soups and desserts or else it would not be enough. As for me, I was hungry by the time I reached home =.= Anyway, I liked the ambiance, soothing and calm for a nice chat. Damn comfy too! Especially their sofas
Our total bill was RM71.60 including 10% service charge. Their dinner sets cost RM16.90 each which was average. I felt that my noodle was a tad bit expensive (RM9.90) since portion was small. Thankfully drink was only RM4.50 ^.^ ya, for that pot!
I wonder what was on their mind… after food, feeling dreamy already! See what I mean about their comfy sofas ^.*
