MPOV: Pacific Rim

The movie started with the narrator explaining how Kaiju's and Jaeger's started. The narrator then moved on to how he and his brother, Yancy, were Jaeger heroes, bringing down many Kaiju's until one fine day when their worst nightmare came true. Yancy was killed by a Kaiju and the narrator, Raleigh, nearly missed the boat. He survived but at the same time, the Jaeger's started losing as the Kaiju's became more intelligent and kept coming back stronger, continuing to attack. Finally the Jaeger program was terminated and plans to build the coastal wall was implemented, hoping to prevent the Kaiju's from entering.

Unfortunately, the wall failed miserably. Thankfully, Stacker, the last commander for the terminated Jaeger program, didn't give up hope as he secretly gets personal funding for the remaining 4 Jaeger's. He personally tracked Raleigh, begging him to return as the pilot of Gipsy Danger (Raleigh and Yancy's Jaeger). As the Kaiju's kept attacking rapidly, with the return of Raleigh and a sound plan, the impending disaster seemed bleak as the remaining 4 Jaeger's were prepared for the onslaught battle of the century.

The trailer blew me away. I was hoping the movie itself would too as at times, trailer and movie don't jive. Well, this movie proved me wrong as it was totally AWESOME! Totally worth watching it in the cinema too with all the sound effects. Loved the realistic monsters and machines! I wouldn't mind trying out such machine in the near future, definitely would be an experience of a lifetime! I know I should hold my horses as these are just mere imaginations. But if it does appear in my lifetime, I would definitely wanna try it!
