Bali: Day 1 Arrival @ Loft Legian Hotel

Finally, after our first trip in 2005 and a cancelled trip in 2012, we are here in Bali! Thanks to hubby's lucky star in lieu of celebrating our belated 13th wedding anniversary too! A blessing in disguised as we had A huge budget bust during Chinese New Year, among others, an unwanted car accident that came with a prolonged car illnesses which had been healed, thankfully thus far. Hence this unexpected trip was tightly budgeted with less frills. As usual, will be sharing my moments here in a few posts for this 3 days 2 nights trip but you will be surprised at the places we went with minimal amount spent! Some may say it's standard but for us, comparing to our first trip, it was definitely way cheaper.

Bali! Landing soon...
Our first day was a short one as we arrived at Ngurah Rai Airport late, inclusive of flight delayed for another 10 mins, at around 6pm (Bali and Malaysia are on the same time zone). With the tight security after a couple of bombings, custom's clearance took another hour before we could actually leave the airport. Poor Pak Merta, our pick-up from Loft Legian Hotel, must have waited until his legs were tired as we saw him sitting cross-legged while waving the placard. After settling us in the van, we were quickly sent to the hotel for check-in, with a detour of buying a pre-paid data sim pack. Yes, that's at the top of the list!!! Nowadays you can't leave home without data! Anyway, hubby was really happy as it's damn cheap at IDR45,000 for a 5GB data! Oh it's XL starter sim pack btw and coverage was good... I could check-in everywhere in Bali!

Hubby did a lot of homework this time, looking for the cheapest of everything including the hotel. We finally settled for Loft Legian Hotel as they were offering a variety of packages on their website + it looked clean and well maintained too. Well, this time the photos in the website didn't deceive us + there were many good reviews on Trip Advisor and also the internet. We initially wanted a special package which Ibu Sita, the nice lady I liaised with, has suggested for us. On the other hand, my cousin Jino, insisted we opt for a tour guide which he highly recommended. So in the end, we took his recommendation and had to change our hotel's special package to a standard one from the website as some of the itineraries would have clashed.

Hotel's address and the package we took:-
Loft Legian Hotel, Jalan Melasti 99, Legian Kuta Bali 80361 Indonesia.
Ultimate Loft Package IDR 898,000 inclusive of:
  • a free pick-up service from the airport
  • a free one time dinner at (with free shuttle to) Bale Udang Mang Engking for 2
  • a free one time refreshment from Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf
  • free WiFi
Loft Legian Hotel's Superior Room! Thanks Bu Sita for arranging the King size bed!!!
The air-con was a blessing since it's so hot outside!
Look what greeted us? Isn't it adorable?!
Loved the shower!
The hotel recently celebrated it's 1st year anniversary hence it is still new and truly a very clean hotel! Btw, it is a budget hotel ya but they provide 5 star service! The staffs here are really friendly and knowledgeable. They welcomed us with open arms and really made us felt at home away from home. The room was clean and comfortable especially the bed... so cosy and we slept like pigs!!! Everything was perfect and I wouldn't have traded this for another hotel!

The only setback which we had told them, hopefully they could improve, was:

  • for hubby, the walkway was noisy at times, since our room 106 is near the lobby, so hoping they could soundproofed the room a bit
  • for me, the lighting in the toilet was a little too dim for my liking so I do hope they could change the bulbs to a brighter one... I believe this sentiment is agreeable with all vain ladies

Other than that, everything was perfect and Loft Legian Hotel made our stay memorable. Will definitely keep this hotel in my record for our next trip to Bali, hopefully soon with our Angels!

Rating: 4.5/5
