This guide to decluttering your home from Japanese cleaning
consultant Marie Kondo takes readers step-by-step through her revolutionary
KonMari Method for simplifying, organizing, and storing.
Despite constant efforts to declutter your home, do papers
still accumulate like snowdrifts and clothes pile up like a tangled mess of
noodles?
Japanese cleaning consultant Marie Kondo takes tidying to a
whole new level, promising that if you properly simplify and organize your home
once, you’ll never have to do it again. Most methods advocate a room-by-room or
little-by-little approach, which doom you to pick away at your piles of stuff
forever. The KonMari Method, with its revolutionary category-by-category
system, leads to lasting results. In fact, none of Kondo’s clients have lapsed
(and she still has a three-month waiting list).
With detailed guidance for determining which items in your
house “spark joy” (and which don’t), this book featuring Tokyo’s newest
lifestyle phenomenon will help you clear your clutter and enjoy the unique
magic of a tidy home—and the calm, motivated mindset it can inspire.

I was introduced to this book by a dear friend, Ai Jou, from the KLBAC group. Coincidentally, I was thinking of de cluttering my home then as I've been hoarding too many things! I actually felt suffocated looking at the amount of stuffs! So when this book comes about, I felt it was a sign so I went looking for the e-book online. Oh yes, e-book makes sense! There is a part where Marie mentioned we should discard her book upon completing our de cluttering so an e-book is a much better investment as opposed to buying it! I love books so I won't have the heart to throw a good hardcover away *heart melting*
I like this quote below:
Once the process of tidying is under way, many of my clients remark that they have lost weight or that they have firmed up their tummies. It's a very strange phenomenon, but when we reduce what we own and essentially 'detox ' our house, it has a detox effect on our bodies as well.
After what I've read, it really makes sense what she has written and shared. Marie has really opened up my eyes and enlightened my mind with her simple KonMari methods of de cluttering. So time for the real test, I have started with my clothes but still struggling, trying to grasp her method. I'll definitely share my KonMari Journey next.
