Phuket: day 2

This is a long forgotten post, day 2 of our Phuket trip last August... so many months ago LOL! I sure missed the peaceful and serene beach...

Anyway, day 2 started cloudy... which was a HUGE disappointment for us... midway in our pick-up van, it had started to rain! Nooooooooooooooo! "Why oh why it has to rain today? Of all day when we are going for island hopping!" *wailing shamelessly*

Yes, day 2 has been pre-planned for island hopping and we were supposed to go for a day trip to Phi Phi Island. BUT it had started raining... so we were praying hard it will stopped raining when we reached our destinations.

The itinerary was to:
1. depart from the pier at 9.40am and arrive at Phi Phi Ley where we could snorkel and swim at Maya Bay (which is famous for the movie location of The Beach), Loh Samah Bay, Pileh Cove & Viking Cave and lastly Monkey Beach.

2. enjoy seafood and Thai buffet lunch at Phi Phi Don restaurant at 12.30pm

3. visit Khai Nok Island to feed fish, swim, snorkel and relax on the beach 1.30pm

4. head back to Phuket 4.30pm

Unfortunately, all plans go south due to the heavy rain around Phi Phi Island. Sad but true. We just managed to stop by a cove and snorkel for less than an hour. After that it was cut short and headed for lunch at Phi Phi Don. The rest of the day didn't go as planned and we headed back to Phuket after lunch. It felt like the longest boat ride due to the heavy storm which was scary and yet... mesmerising. Hubs recorded it on his camera but I was too lazy to download it here so just sharing some photos of what I've managed to snap...
The intro and briefing
The volatile sea during snorkelling...
The storm brewing...
The smokers onboard...
More storm brewing...

So after reaching the hotel, a short nap and freshening up, we headed out hunting for dinner...

And stumbled upon this long queue... honestly, we have passed by many atimes and the queue was long so we didn't had the chance to taste and figure out what the big deal was...
And we ended up further down the street for this street hawker food which was truly yummy!

Simple yet yummy and spicy!!!
The dogs here are KING!
After dinner, we walked around, sight-seeing...

Supper!
Small but yummy! And it's a wrap! zzzzzzzz
Next post: day 3 with lots of sunny sights
