MPOV: Ying Ker Lou

Type: Non-halal
My rating: 4/5
Location: Lot 138 & 139, 1st Floor, The Curve Mutiara Damansara
Located at a quiet first floor facade, this place was crowded when we arrived. The waiters quickly ushered us to a vacant table and promptly gave us the menu, letting us absorbed it. After we had placed our order, a few of the staffs would religiously checked on our order, later our tea and ice... very attentive in ensuring we were served promptly.

What I liked most was they speak Cantonese, according to our spoken language and not enforcing us to speak Mandarin... dah lah we are banana! So unlike Canton-i where the head waitress kept speaking Mandarin to us when we were speaking Cantonese and it's a Cantonese cuisine restaurant =.= Btw, Ying Ker Lou serves Hakka cuisine so thankfully the staffs didn't speak Hakka to us LOL! Either way, we were just thankful that the staffs were attentive and really efficient!
Our pot of Jasmine Tea RM12
I really liked the old, vintage tea pot. Mind you, it's solid metal and very heavy! Tea was really fragrant and the water was hot enough... truly refreshing.
We have ordered dinner set A1 RM60
Though the dishes were a bit slow (waitress told us there's a shortage of chefs without us asking ya), the food was yummy with the right taste and texture. The meat was tender, not over-cooked with fresh vegetables and most importantly, it wasn't oily! Everything blended in just nice for a dinner for 2.

Total bill was RM80 inclusive of 2 bowls of white rice (RM3 per bowl!!!), 6% GST and 10% service charge. Definitely over the top but worthy for a once in a blue moon treat. Also not forgetting the overall experience and ambience, they had definitely given me a very good first impression!
