MPOV: Library of Souls (Miss Peregrine's Peculiar Children #3)

My rating: 5/5
Goodreads rating: 4.15/5
Originally published: September 22, 2015
Author: Ransom Riggs
Genre: young adult, horror fiction, dark fantasy

A boy with extraordinary powers. An army of deadly monsters. An epic battle for the future of peculiardom.

The adventure that began with Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children and continued in Hollow City comes to a thrilling conclusion with Library of Souls. As the story opens, sixteen-year-old Jacob discovers a powerful new ability, and soon he’s diving through history to rescue his peculiar companions from a heavily guarded fortress. Accompanying Jacob on his journey are Emma Bloom, a girl with fire at her fingertips, and Addison MacHenry, a dog with a nose for sniffing out lost children.

They’ll travel from modern-day London to the labyrinthine alleys of Devil’s Acre, the most wretched slum in all of Victorian England. It’s a place where the fate of peculiar children everywhere will be decided once and for all. Like its predecessors, Library of Souls blends thrilling fantasy with never-before-published vintage photography to create a one-of-a-kind reading experience.

Finally, I have my closure! This trilogy ended on a high! Well written, plots well thought off, what more can I asked for? I've enjoyed it's fast-paced, adventure filled momentum and couldn't wait to finish it off to know the ending... so hooked on and kept me on my toes! I can totally imagined the scenes from Jacob's view... so enthralling!

Anyway, throughout the adventure, I loved the matching vintage photos to the story which made the whole plot more realistic. Also how Jacob has grown with Emma during this rescue mission made the story more endearing. Thankfully Ransom has ended this trilogy with a full closure, knowing how they had fared on moving forward. It's so extra-ordinary and peculiarly with a good ending! My mind is still reeling in from the adventure so kinda hard to put it in words here... peculiar or not, it is an awesome trilogy!

Just some new words I've encountered:
1. Stentorian - (of a person's voice) loud and powerful
2. Winnowing - (of the wind) blow
3. Neophyte - a person who is new to the subject, skill or belief
4. Nepotistic - nepotism
5. Philistines - a member of a non-Semitic people of ancient southern Palestine

My advise - do get all 3 books first so that you could read it at one go. It continues one after another so you won't be left hanging for the next one LOL! I wonder what would be Ransom's next book... if he could emulate Peculiar's success... if it would be another young adult fantasy... I'm just curious LOL!
