Yesterday we celebrated Mom’s birthday at Sushi Tei. Sis came back from Singapore especially for this occasion :-) Bro Chris also joined us but Ryan couldn’t make it as he has prior engagement. It was nice as we haven’t had an outing together like this in ages! We should try to do this more often but it’s not easy since Sis is working in Singapore… sigh!
After dinner, we adjourned to the cinema to watch The Expendables. Mom insisted to watch this movie, all because of Jet Li =.= Her birthday so her choice…
Barney and a group of highly trained mercenaries have been offered to save the people of Vilena and overthrow the dictator. While Barney and Christmas were surveying Vilena before accepting the offer, they met with Sandra, the dictator’s daughter who wanted all the sufferings to end. They encountered problems and decided to decline the offer. However, Barney felt guilty for not saving Sandra and decided to go back to Vilena to save her.
The Expendables is written and directed by Sylvester Stallone featuring all the famous actors of the 80’s or shall I say, has been actors ;-) The storyline is predictable with Stallone’s trade mark.. violence and lots of action. It’s entertaining and comedic but the violence was a tad too much for me :p I was surprised Jet Li actually spoke a lot in this movie… which is good :-) Hope his career takes off again with more good movies to come!
8 thumbs up out of 10
