What happens when you mix 1 (accidental) murder with 2 thousand wedding guests, and then toss in a possible curse on 3 generations of an immigrant Chinese-Indonesian family?

You get 4 meddling Asian aunties coming to the rescue!

When Meddelin Chan ends up accidentally killing her blind date, her meddlesome mother calls for her even more meddlesome aunties to help get rid of the body. Unfortunately, a dead body proves to be a lot more challenging to dispose of than one might anticipate, especially when it is inadvertently shipped in a cake cooler to the over-the-top billionaire wedding Meddy, her Ma, and aunties are working at an island resort on the California coastline. It's the biggest job yet for the family wedding business—"Don't leave your big day to chance, leave it to the Chans!"—and nothing, not even an unsavory corpse, will get in the way of her auntie's perfect buttercream flowers.

But things go from inconvenient to downright torturous when Meddy's great college love—and biggest heartbreak—makes a surprise appearance amid the wedding chaos. Is it possible to escape murder charges, charm her ex back into her life, and pull off a stunning wedding all in one weekend?
This is so hilarious! I can understand why she's the current favourite author for chic lit! Totally killed it and topped off my favourite, Sophie Kinsella, pun intended! LOL!

Being Indonesian, Jesse Q. Sutanto has infused lots of local flavour to this novel hence it was so relatable, so current and so easy to read! With a dash of quirkiness and charm, it makes this novel so funny, definitely an easy and lite read. I would have finished it faster but duty calls so I can only read during my commute from work.

This novel centers on Meddy, a filial girl to her mother, has been working as a wedding photographer in her family's wedding business. She has been set up by her mother to meet a guy from the internet. Unfortunately, the date went south, and she has accidentally killed her date who turned out to be her mother's flower supplier. As she has no one to turn to except for her family, she has no choice but to tell them what has happened with the body still warm in her car boot. The chaos continued as they tried to get rid of the body whilst having to carry on with a wedding order in hand!

As cheesy as it maybe, this is such an entertaining read from the start to the end! As I have been following the author on Instagram, I kept imagining her as Meddy, totally having the plots in mind! It's been a while since I've read something which I look forward to. I am definitely looking forward to other books from this author.

If you like a quick and funny read, this first book by Jesse Q. Sutanto, Dial A for Aunties, is a splendid choice... for either the young or the old! Well written with many Indonesian catch phrase that will tickle your fancy!
