CSM: The Santai Pop-up Market

Crochet: bag charms / key chains

I've recently crochet lots of bag charms and key chains for the upcoming The Santai Pop-up Market this weekend at Sunsuria Forum, Setia Alam.

All are my own creations hence I'm really happy at how it turns out! What I've used:

• 100% acrylic yarns
• Fibre foam filling
• Random buttons
• Lobster clasp / key fob

Aside from these, there are some amigurumi's for sale... not forgetting, lots of DIY Mosaic Kits too! So drop by if you are in the vicinity! Come one, come all!!!

CSM: Chill Bazaar @ Da-men Mall

Nyc Nat Nook will be at Chill Bazaar / HOPE Art Bazaar this weekend at Da-men Mall. This is a collaboration between Art Market Malaysia, Single Mother Association and Community Subang Jaya so there will be lots of activities during this 2 days event. Please drop by and holler your support if you are in the vicinity.

Aside from selling ladies accessories, mobile phone accessories and handmade gifts, there will also be Mini Crochet Workshops and DIY Mosaic Gift Kits. If you would like to book a seat, please send an email to nycnatnook@gmail.com.

CSM: GMBB: Good Market - Family

This coming weekend, there will be a Family themed Good Market at GMBB from 11am to 8pm. Nyc Nat Nook is grateful to have been invited to join this creative market! Aside from selling crochet gifts, we will also have a mini crochet workshop, Understanding Basic Crochet, for freshies! Nyc Nat Nook: we have moved!

Dear readers and followers,

If you have followed our Instagram account or Facebook page, you would have noticed our moving out notice. It's definitely not a April Fool's prank ya!

We are planning to move to a more conducive and convenient location which we have yet to identify, so for the time-being, we have moved from offline to online! Yes, we are available online now so you can get in touch with us anytime (except when we are sleeping) in the comfort of your own bed! No traffic jam! No double parking! Less hassle now as you can shop or rent online! As it's still new, we are in the midst of tweaking and fine-tuning it. Happy Chinese New Year!

A very Happy Chinese New Year to all who are celebrating this auspicious piggy year! Happy Holidays to the rest ya! Please drive safely especially for those going back hometown.

Please take note that Nyc Nat Nook will be closed from 3rd to 8th February 2019 during this festive period and will reopen on 9th February 2019. A good rest with lots of yummylicious food to rejuvenate one self during this long piggy holiday with a good book to boot! Until then, Kung Hei Fatt Choy!!!

Nyc Nat Nook: Crochet Workshops!

Did you know that I do conduct crochet workshops at Nyc Nat Nook? Aside from books for rent and mobile phone accessories for sale, I do sell some handmade crochet products and teach crochet during weekends.

If you would like to learn a new skill i.e. crochet, you can give me a holler and I'll advice you accordingly. Either a beginner or a refresher, I have suitable workshops for both category namely:

• learn to crochet a book/ e-reader sleeve
• learn to crochet a coaster
• learn to crochet a pokeball

More will be added in due time but if you have a particular pattern in mind, we can work something out. Workshops are by appointment basis as such please do holler for more details.

Nyc Nat Nook: Books for rent online!

Did you know that you can rent books from Nyc Nat Nook via online?

Yes, you can and we will post the books to you! Of course, you would have to pay for postage lah!

We understand that some people find it a hassle to travel all the way to Damansara Jaya with the heavy traffic plus it's difficult to find parking at times...

Now you can do it in the comfort of your own home, choosing and renting books via online... well, online shopping is the trend nowadays anyway. 

So instead of paying for petrol, toll and parking which could be more, just add another RM6 for postage for 2 books or less. Once you have finished reading the books, you can walk-in to return or you can opt to post it back to us. Less hassle right?!

Why buy when you can rent? In line with the minimalist way, less is more so renting will reduce the clutter while you can still read more, gathering more knowledge!

Reading Women Challenge 2019

After numerous failed attempts at reading challenges previously, I must say I am a little perplexed to try this one by Reading Women. After giving it some thoughts, I guess there's no harm in trying since their list is with 24 challenges and I've actually set my Goodreads reading goal at 38 books! As I have a mountain of books at Nyc Nat Nook, I'm always at a lost on what to read next. So this challenge can definitely help me select my next book to read easily :-)

So, the first challenge on the list is:
1. A mystery or thriller written by a woman of colour

I've decided to read Ovidia Yu's Aunty Lee's Delights (Singaporean Mystery #1) once I've finished Agatha Christie's A Murder at the Vicarage. Sounds like I'm on a roll for mystery and crime LOL!!! I do pledged to update the list accordingly in order to ensure I'll complete the challenge. So *fingers crossed*

[MPOV] EliteSoft Wallet power bank and Speedy data cable

All thanks to Pokemon Go, my mobile phone's battery depletes very fast so I rely on power bank a lot. It's one of those 'must have' items in my handbag LOL! As such, I prefer a reliable power bank as most in the market is not plus the life span is short.

EliteSoft Wallet 10,000 mAh Power Bank with Speedy 2.4A Cable

So here comes EliteSoft, an unknown brand to me, with a lightweight power bank which works as hard. I wasn't sure at first since it's made in China plus it is light for a 10,000 mAh! Who would have thought that this small fella is hardy and works really well, even with 2 phones charging at the same time!

It has dual output i.e. 1A and 2A, not fast charging but works equally as fast for a 10,000 mAh! Ultra slim with 25% thinner and lighter than most similar capacity power banks! Coupled it with a Speedy 2.4A data cable, my mobile phone is fully charged within a few hours! Okay, I screw up here as I forgot to time the charging but I think it usually takes 3 to 4 hours to fully charge my mobile phone.

I honestly liked this bundle a lot and it has been my constant companion in my handbag ever since I was given this set to try. So much so that I've stocked it up to sell at Nyc Nat Nook *shameless plug* Well, sharing is caring mah... you can hardly find a lightweight power bank with a leather wrapped data cable which look aesthetically neat and classy ya...

As highlighted in my previous post, Nyc Nat Nook will be at Merchant of Joy Markets this weekend, December 15 and 16, 2018 from 10am to 8pm.

Merchant of Joy Markets

Come this weekend, there will be a bazaar at Atria Shopping Gallery. It is called Merchant of Joy Markets hosted by The Happiness Project. It will be located in front of Mr. DIY at Level 1 from 10am to 8pm with loads of stuff for sale like clothes, accessories, household wares and even food! With Christmas around the corner, it is a good time to complete your gift shopping!

In fact, Nyc Nat Nook will be participating in it's first bazaar here!!! There will be lots of stuff on clearance sale like accessories, bags and mobile phone accessories so that we can have new, niche products for the coming year. Stay tune for more updates!
